Defenders will be a priority this summer, but that doesn’t mean we ignore midfield – Talk Chelsea

The numerous reports that circulate around our summer transfer plans have one thing in common, all saying that new defenders will be a market priority for Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel.

Honestly, I don’t think it needs reporting. It is very clear that Defenders will be our first priority to address this summer. We potentially lose up to four of our key senior defenders, almost the entire line of defense. Needless to say, these players will have to be replaced as a matter of urgency.

This does not mean, however, that we cannot then switch to a different pressure position – to the center of the field. Tuchel will be backed by further financial investments this summer, most reports show. So, if we are smart enough, we can certainly bring our attention to help as well, which is considered a very urgent position that Tuchel wants to improve and add to it.

Jorginho may leave this summer as well as a handful of other players. So there will be more space in the ward, as well as more funds, so it will not be all expenses.

This is a big job for our new owners, but I feel we can take care of most of our positions where we need to improve.
